Creator/ Producer/ Writer/ Host
A Breathitt co native, I have called home to Morehead, Maysville, Lexington and Hazard and now Berea. An avid lover of all things composed of sound and color. Collector of books and interesting people.
I find myself most fascinated and deeply entranced at the crossroads of creativity and mental health. I use Mewz as a platform to bring attention to both of these areas of interest, hopefully in a way that others find helpful in their personal journeys.
To date, I’ve been part of a handful of radio families, including WSGS in Hazard KY, WJSN Jackson Ky, WLZD Combs Ky, WEKY/NPR Richmond KY, and currently WMMT Whitesburg KY.
Shows I’ve worked on: Eastern Standard; WEKU/NPR Host Tom Martin. Rise: A documentary series; WEKU/NPR. Mewz for Mountain Talk; WMMT Host; Me. Comming in 2025; Restorative Radio; WMMT; Hosted by Me.
Other Noteworthy achievements of Mewz:
2023 Podcast of the year nominee The Appys
2024 Radio Personality of the Year nominee The Appys

Josh is a Breathitt County native. Josh had been pursuing interest similar to Mewz on his own . He had been recording local singer songwriters and collecting stories from the locals who lived them, rich in history, heartache and humor. Josh began working with Mewz in 2021, as a photographer and interviewer. We had established ourselves and were getting invites to events, I was never nervous about sending Josh to represent what I had built. Professional, courteous, and a great eye for the lens and an exceptional dancer of squares…
Josh has since found his niche as a talented photographer cover festivals and sporting events across the state. He also published his first book in 2024, and is currently covering sports for Mountain News.
